- To stimulate, vitalize and encourage the pursuit of a personal knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ by all believers unto the fulfillment of the "Great Commission" (Mark 16:15)
History
The Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship dedicated themselves to bring Christian television into the Mid-Columbia area in 1985. As a result, a 100 watt UHF station, K66BW, was born.
The original station crew were:
Bob Huff, Chief Administrator
Brad Buswell, General Manager
Jim Pelicer, Chief Engineer
The first studio was located in a local home until 1987 when production activities were moved into the GESA building in Richland. With the installation of a microwave relay, it was no longer necessary to transport VHS tapes to the transmitter on Badger Mountain.
K66BW became Radiant Light Broadcasting, licensed in the State of Washington as a 501.c.3 non-profit, community broadcaster in 1988, with ownership transferred from Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship.
Signal strength was increased from 100 to 1,000 watts in 1989, licensed by the FCC to broadcast on channel 49 KCN. UHF K66BW was sold to FOX network in Spokane. RLB also became an affilate of Trinity Broadcasting Network and the studio and offices were moved to the current location at 704 Symons, Richland, WA that year.
RLB-TV broadcasts were added to Tri-City cable service broadcasting in 1990, assigned to channels 58 (Kennewick/Pasco) and 7 (Richland).
A second transmitter was built in 1996 and RLB-TV began airing on UHF channel 47 in Walla Walla, WA and Pendleton, Milton-Freewater, and Umatilla, Oregon.
Access to broadcast inside the Walla Walla State Penitentuary on channel 7 was acquired in 1998.
RLB-TV affiliated with Total Living Network (TLN) of Chicago in 2001 to provide Family Time TV learning programs and Saturday night music programming.
